Gavin Lyons - Chief Executive Officer

Gavin Lyons, Chief Executive Officer of Accumuli, is responsible for the overall management of the Group, including the planning, setting and execution of the company’s strategy.

Gavin joined Accumuli from SAP, the global market and technology leader in business management software, where he worked as Divisional Head for the Telecoms and Utilities sectors - one of largest and most successful vertical markets for SAP.

Prior to SAP, Gavin had considerable executive-level experience in the security sector derived from his role as Vice President of Sales and Alliances with Identum and three subsequent director positions with Trend Micro. Identum was a venture capitalist backed email encryption business that was successfully sold to IT security giant Trend Micro in 2008 for a multimillion dollar sum.

Gavin played a pivotal role in building Identum’s business and following the acquisition, he took a number of senior leadership positions at Trend Micro, gaining three promotions in four years due to his performance levels. Gavin worked in leadership positions across all aspects of the customer-facing business including service providers, system integrators, sales and channel.

Gavin has had a fast track career; he secured his first senior director position at the age of 26 – a position at The Caudwell Group where he was responsible for £100+ million in revenue. Over the last decade, Gavin has subsequently amassed a wealth of senior management experience in a variety of roles covering sales, channels, strategy and demand generation marketing. Gavin has also specialised in customer relationship development with organisations operating in both the IT and B2B markets. His corporate experience was gained from renowned companies such as Xerox, Compuware and The Caudwell Group.

Gavin holds a MBA from Henley Management College, awarded in 2005

 

Ian Winn - Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer

Ian is the CFO, COO and board member of Accumuli plc. He is responsible for all financial and company secretarial matters for the Company and its subsidiaries. He also leads the day to day operational functions of the business across HR, Support and Consulting.

Ian is a Chartered Accountant with over 16 years’ experience at an executive level in a number of service orientated businesses operating within finance and technology sectors.

Ian qualified as an accountant with KPMG prior to his move into industry. From 1996 to 2000 Ian held a number of senior roles with Euro Sales Finance plc culminating in operations director and company secretary, during a time of significant growth. He then took several senior positions across Enterprise plc, Ceridian Centrefile and Corporate Audio Visual plc.

Ian joined NetServices plc in November 2005 and through leading a series of divestments and acquisitions he was instrumental in the branding and launch of Accumuli plc. His vision and ability to focus on core business areas have led to over £25m of divestment and subsequent acquisition resulting in Accumuli plc’s strength in IT security solutions across technology, professional services and managed services. His restructuring, financial understanding and connections to capital sources continue to present growth opportunities to Accumuli, the independent IT security specialist.

 Andy Aplin - Chief Technology Officer

Andy Aplin was appointed as the Group Technical Director at Accumuli plc after the acquisition of Fujin Technology Ltd in December 2010. He is responsible for leading Accumuli’s IT Security Technology Strategy through product and service development and vendor partnerships.

Andy has an established career in IT Technology, with experience and expertise at delivering success across the UK and EMEA markets. He co founded Fujin Technology in 2003 to drive IT security technology solutions to mobile service providers. Having established Fujin Technology as a global supplier to Vodafone, he then concentrated on expanding Fujin’s capabilities to other global mobile service providers before selling to Accumuli plc.

Throughout his career, Andy has held senior technology related positions within a range of IT specialist companies including; Cisco Systems, Bay Networks, Alcatel and Blue Coat Systems Inc, where he took the lead technical role in establishing them during their initial engagement in EMEA and through to their IPO in October 1999.  

Andy’s experience, including the founding of Fujin Technology and an MBO, has enabled him to combine customer focused vision and his deep understanding the of technology delivery with the practicalities of company management.

 

Darrell Frost - Group Marketing Director

Darrell was appointed as the Group Marketing Director at Accumuli plc, in December 2012. He is responsible for all Accumuli’s marketing activity, leading a team of marketers and telemarketers for the rapidly growing UK-based independent specialist in IT Security.

Darrell is an accomplished IT industry Marketing Director, with extensive experience across UK and EMEA markets. Prior to joining Accumuli, Darrell headed the UK marketing function for Integralis, overseeing a successful demand generation programme to aid the growth of this leading IT Security Business. 

Throughout his career, Darrell has held executive marketing positions with range of IT specialist companies including Avid Technology, a B2B/C supplier of hardware, software and services to the Broadcast, Audio and Video industry. Previously, he held a ten year marketing tenure with HP, expanding its Services business across EMEA.  

Darrell’s wide ranging experience, including eight years working at ICL/Fujitsu Services, has enabled him to combine the theories of marketing with the practicalities of the IT marketplace. Darrell is a Chartered Marketer with an MBA from the University of Liverpool.

   
 

Dean Murtagh - Sales Director

Dean was appointed to the position of Sales Director at Accumuli plc in November 2010, following the acquisition of Tuscany Networks. Initially responsible for the integration of disparate sales teams from four Accumuli acquisitions, he has subsequently built the current sales structure to establish Accumuli as a leader in the Security Intelligence marketplace.

Dean’s pronounced IT vendor, reseller and direct sales expertise has enabled Accumuli’s growth across multiple verticals as he has lead his team to position a portfolio of technology, professional and managed services.

Prior to the Accumuli acquisition, Dean was the Sales Director at Tuscany Networks where he was responsible for building a dynamic and success oriented sales organisation. This led to Tuscany’s position as the UK’s leading DDI provider, winning many of the Times Top 100 as new and renewal customers.

Dean originally started his sales career for US based vendors both in the UK and internationally, progressing from Business Development to Major Accounts, before moving into Sales Management some 15 years ago. He has worked across IT disciplines and companies including Harris Adacom, Wall Data (IPO), Eicon Technology and Quadritek (acquired by Lucent) before leading sales at Tuscany Networks and now Accumuli plc.
