porttracker Sync Modules
Sync modules enable porttracker to upload switch, port and end-node device data to an IPAM system so that information is available within the native IPAM GUI. For instance, an object stored in the IPAM system can have additional switch, port and end-node data attached that is populated via a sync module. This means an operator can experience the benefits of porttracker without the need to refer to a seperate GUI.
Currently, the two leading IPAM systems are supported, Infoblox and Alcatel-Lucent VitalQIP.
qsync benefits
- Valuable connectivity detail to VitalQIP UDF object records, including MAC address, switch name, Slot/port, link speed/duplex, VLAN info, last seen times
- Real world validation of VitalQIP objects
- Searchable and Reportable porttracker fields in VitalQIP
- Provides accurate reclaim reports using ‘last seen’ data
- Enhances audit information by adding host detail for static objects.
Future sync modules are planned for other IPAM systems, Asset Management systems, CMDBs as well as generic database adapters.

qsync plug-in has created obect level UDF fields within VitalQIP.
bsync benefits
- Valuable connectivity details are added to Infoblox as extra meta data. This includes MAC address, switch name, slot/port, link speed/duplex, VLAN information, and even firt/last seen times.
- Real world validation of IPAM objects
- Searchable and Reportable porttracker fields in the grid master
- Provides accurate reclaim reports using ‘last seen’ data
- Enhances audit information by adding connection detail to static objects.
- Add objects to IPAM that were found on your network, but don’t exist in the grid master.

bsync plug-in has created extensible attribute fields within Infoblox.
